BENTONG – Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the Opposition’s attempt to poison the minds of the voters in the Pelangai State Assembly by denying the government’s various efforts in that area will not affect the support for Barisan Nasional (BN).

As reported by Sinar Harian, Zahid who is also the UMNO President is confident that BN is able to defend the Pelangai state assembly seat and hence continues to repeat the party’s victory in the Tioman state by-election despite facing various inadequacies.

“BN should try its best to realize the victory as the opposition is seen trying to deny the support of voters for BN.

“Insya-Allah we will defend Pelangai as we are confident that the voters are close to BN. They want the best services from an assemblyman who is together with the state and federal government.

“I hope the people in Pelangai are smart like those in Pulai and Simpang Jeram by making the right decision in choosing the people’s representative who could continue the services like what had been served before.

“I hope they will reject the candidates that could not provide services that are in line with Putrajaya and Pahang,” he said at the press conference after officiating “Karnival Kerjaya MyFuture Jobs” together with Hawa Malaysia in Felda Chemomoi here, Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Pelangai state assembly seat was vacant following Datuk Seri Johari Harun’s death (BN) in a plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam, Selangor on 17th Aug.2023.

The Pelangai state by-election will be a three cornered fight between BN, Perikatan Nasional (PN) and an independent candidate.
In another development, Zahid said efforts have been made by the state government to establish a bank branch in Pelangai as expected by the people.

“They have forwarded an appeal (commercial bank) to the Menteri Besar and we have arranged a commercial bank branch that could help the Pelangai people to do transactions and not only the ATM machine,” he said. – Malaysia World News
