BAGAN DATUK:  Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said many Chinese have lost confidence in the opposition and they will come back to Barisan Nasional (BN).

He said he knew that when visiting Chinese settlements and meeting with many NGOs.

“I am confident that the Chinese voters are starting to change,” he said in his speech during the Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL) ceremony at Kampung Bagan Pasir Laut Hall here today.

Chinese voters had realized their mistakes in the previous general elections and will be back to support BN, Zahid told reporter at  a press conference held later at the same event.

“In the past, they had fallen prey to the opposition’s instigation of hatred against BN, but now they can see our (BN) struggles are similar with them, thus they want to be come back with BN,” New Straits Times quoted him as saying.

Citing the water woes in Selangor, Zahid reminded Chinese voters not to be influenced by the opposition party sweet promises.

“Enough, Chinese voters should not let themselves be swayed by promises made by the opposition. See what they had promised earlier; to give free water, but did not get and the water price will not go up, but went up too. In Selangor, some even did not get to shower due to the water crisis,” he said.

Zahid also urged Chinese voters to choose a party that provide them good economy, education and security, and make the right choice in the 14th General Election (GE14) for the sake of future generations.

“Please give a chance to Chinese leaders from BN to demonstrate their ability to help the Chinese community, ” he said.
