KUALA LUMPUR: The woman who was reported to have performed Umrah in men’s clothing will face stern action when she comes back to Malaysia, says Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Idris Ahmad.
He said he had contacted the Home Ministry and urge for further investigations and stern action against her if the matter is found to be true.
“I am concerned over the viral news that a woman performed umrah in the garment worn by male pilgrims while in a state of ihram.
“This is a religious issue and action will be taken,” Idris said.
This came after a video went viral on social media showing a Malaysian-like woman performing umrah in male pilgrims’ clothes in the holy land, Mecca.
