KUALA LUMPUR: The post of the Opposition leader is still vacant since Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had relinquished the post after going on leave as Umno president last December.
The opposition party, Barisan Nassional is now looking for the possibilities of appointing a new leader that can revive back the party power after a shocking defeat in May 14th general election.
Barisan Nasional (BN) acting chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan was quoted by Malaysiakini yesterday saying that the coalition will have a meeting soon to decide who will be the next Opposition leader.
“I will call for the meeting as soon as possible. If we don’t have a meeting, I will meet each party,” Mohamad told reporters in Shah Alam yesterday.
There is speculations saying that Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob would be appointed as the next Opposition leader.
Mohamad has been appointed as acting Umno president since Since Zahid went on leave.- Malaysia World News
