Source said today evening Malaysians will know who is their 8th Prime Minister after Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Mustafa Billah Shah interviewed the chiefs of political parties.
The fight for the 8th prime minister post is now between Dr Mahathir and Muhyddin Yassin, the yesterday`s two best friends.
Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin claims he has the majority supports of MPs . He is being endorsed by faction within his party, along with former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s block of independent MPs, Umno, PAS, MCA, MIC and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah.
Interim prime minister Dr Mahathir also claims today he got the number as Pakatan Harapan (DAP, PKR, and Amanah) endorsed him last night.
Parti Warisan Sabah is also expected to support for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Today since morning many political parties leaders have been spotted entering and leaving Istana Negara.
10.03am: Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and some of his his supporters Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, and Umno secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa were seen entering the Palace.
1.30pm: A vehicle carrying PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was seen entering the two-door courtyard of the Palace
Dr Mahathir is said to meet the king this evening.
