Umno has returned to power as the best option, said today party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“We ( Umno leaders) are always ready to lead the government if anything happens to the current government,” he said in Facebook post today.
He said he mentioned that in 2018 during UMNO General Assembly 2018, after the fall of Barisan Nasional (BN).
“That was one of the contents of my speech at the UMNO General Assembly three years ago, after we lost the 14th General Election.
Taking to social media, the party’s president thanked to all party leaders, grassroots members and supporters for believing in him and in his commitment.
“What the UMNO President said that day has been made a reality today.
“Syukur Alhamdulillah, Thank you to all UMNO leaders, members and supporters who believe in the commitment.
“In the same speech I also mentioned: Be assured that the cloudy clouds that hit will soon march, thin and disappear. If we are united and strong we will surely rise,” he added.
“We are the better option”. We are the best option to return to government before or after GE-15.
“Thank God Alhamdulillah, Allah has granted all the prayers and wishes of all our UMNO members.
“To Allah we surrender the sacred party of UMNO is always blessed by Him
Allahummaa Aameen,” Zahid added.
