KUALA LUMPUR 21 May – The second flash mob of the Warriors Fund Campaign ( Kempen Tabung Pahlawan) was held at Masjid Jamek Light Rail Transit (LRT) Station here today with great music, songs and dances performed by 80 staffs including from the cultural unit of the Ministry of Defence.

The first flash mob was held at Central Market, Kuala Lumpur on 7th May. It has received many positive responses from the social media viewers.

The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) musical band was performed by staffs of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). The congregation of the musical band consisting of drummers, saxophonists and guitarists rendered several popular English and Malay songs.

Meanwhile, a team of young male and female dancers had made the event more interesting, impressive and crowd pulling. Many passersby stopped a while before entering the LRT station to capture the exciting moments via their cameras, handphones and also video cameras.

Some passersby took the opportunity to snap photos with the musicians and singers in the crowd. The crowd reached at least 1,500 people who attentively watched the 45 minutes life music band performance.

Flyers of the Warriors Fund Campaign were distributed to the crowd. Those who wish to contribute to the fund can do so via Maybank (Account Number 564717521826) or CIMB (8602700401).

The campaign was organised to help the welfare of ATM veterans and former military staffs, as well as a sign of appreciation to the national warriors who had sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and safety of the country. 

The flash mob was held as a medium to create awareness amongst members of the public to contribute to the fund. For 2017, it sets the target to collect RM5 million while the collection of 2016 was RM3 million.

According to Staff Officer 3 Media II (Army) Strategic Communication Unit, Ministry of Defence, Captain Muhammad Afifi Azham Mohd., ATM plans to organise another two flash mobs at One Utama, Damansara and another one at Pavilion shopping complex, Kuala Lumpur in July.

The campaign will be launched on 31 July 2017 by Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor as the Patron of the Warrior Fund Campaign. –Malaysia World News
