Khairy Jamaluddin disagreed with his Opposition colleagues for walking out of the Dewan Rakyat yesterday as a protest against the appointment of the new Speaker.

He said we should respect the swearing-in ceremony (of the Speaker).

“It is better to respect the ceremony and not do anything that can tarnish the BN image,” he said

A walkout “is not the way to protest”, he added.

Ex-Prime Minister Najib Razak yesterday told the media that Khairy had to explain to UMNO party why he did not walk out from the parliament as the other opposition MPs.
