UN Security Council has passed a resolution Friday demanding an end to Israel’s settlement in the West Bank.
The resolution demands “Israel immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including east Jerusalem”.
The resolution says the settlements have “no legal validity” and are “dangerously imperiling the viability of the two-state solution.”
The resolution calls the Israeli settlements a violation of international law and an obstacle to implementing a two-state solution.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will not abide by the UN vote.
He said the resolution is a “shameful blow against Israel”, and blamed the US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry of being behind the resolution.
“We have no doubt that the Obama administration initiated it, stood behind it, coordinated the drafts and demanded to pass it,” Netanyahu said
Israel has summoned the ambassadors of UN Security Council member states that voted in favour of a resolution condemning settlement activity, a foreign ministry spokesman said.
The UN vote was put forward by New Zealand, Malaysia, Senegal and Venezuela.
UN considered Israel settlements in the West Bank as illegal
On sunday, US president-elect Donald Trump said a UN resolution passed on Friday condemning Israeli settlement building would make Mideast peace negotiations more difficult.
“The big loss yesterday for Israel in the United Nations will make it much harder to negotiate peace. Too bad, but we will get it done anyway!” Trump tweeted yesterday, according to dpa.
