PUTRAJAYA JAN.4: Umrah travellers detected negative in COVID-19 tests and issued as Persons Under Surveilance (PUS) by the Ministry of Health (MOH) will be placed in the hotels or Public Training Centre depending on the availability of rooms on arrival.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Dr.Abd. Latiff Ahmad said, for such arrangement the quarantine cost will be paid by the government including food, drinks and the transportation from the airport.
“The period of quarantine will be set by MOH,” said Dr. Latiff in a statement here today.
Dr. Latiff added, the government understands many Umrah travellers are worried over the additional costs and probably not comfortable during quarantine.
However, he said, the Umrah travellers have the choice either to continue making arrangements with the private quarantine stations (refer to NADMA list of hotels) or quarantine stations that are being managed by the government.
