The UMNO President said that when asked on Tajuddin as Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Salak who had made several allegations during his tell-all press conference held yesterday.
In the press conference, Tajuddin among others called Zahid to withdraw as the party’s president and alleged the latter as a liability to UMNO.
Tajuddin had also claimed UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan had made a movement joined by UMNO advisory council chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to remove Zahid as UMNO President two years ago.
Regarding this matter, Zahid said he was not aware of such movement but to respect the constitution of the party.
“If such request existed, the constitution said it must be conducted according to the party’s regulations to determine if the individual is capable of staying in office,” Zahid said.
According to Tajuddin, the people involved in the movement had met in his house in Bukit Damansara in May 2020 and had discussed to submit a memorandum to Zahid asking him to resign as president of UMNO as reported by NST.
Tajuddin claimed that the movement was called off when Mohamad decided to withdraw in the last minute when he was intimidated by Zahid’s henchman. – Malaysia World News
