Pro-Islam Gerakan Pembela Ummah (Ummah) NGO has called the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay Rulers’ Council to sack Tommy Thomas as the attorney-general.

The group’s spokesperson Kamaruzaman Mohamad, according to MalaysiaKini, claims this is necessary because the country needs an attorney-general who is “more sensitive” towards preserving the sanctity of Islam.

Kamaruzaman alleged Thomas had failed in prosecuting those responsible for the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim and those who insulted the Prophet Muhammad.

“If we allow the attorney-general to sit there, I’m sure the situation will get worse,” Kamaruzaman, the Putrajaya PAS division head, was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Ummah NGO lodged a police report in Kuala Lumpur against two individuals who allegedly insulted Islam on their respective Facebook pages.
