Two SPM students injured after a car knocked their motorcycle at Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing


KLUANG: Two students who had just completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination were seriously injured after their motorcycle was involved in an accident with a car at Kilometer 80, Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing , Monday.

Kluang District Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd. Noh said, the two students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kahang, here were involved in the accident that happened at 1.53pm.

“From the police investigation, it was found that the Naza Ria car from Batu Pahat was heading to Mersing while the Modenas Kriss motorcycle from SMK Kahang was coming out from the junction entering Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing.

“The car failed to avoid the motorcycle that entered its lane and knocked it,” Bahrin said in a statement here Monday evening.

He added, following the accident the motorcyclist Faiz Akmal Zarimi was injured on the face, hand and right leg while the pillion rider, Muhammad Adib Qayyum Mohd. Heff’nie broke his right leg and injured.

According to Bahrin, both the students aged 18 are from Kampung Sri Lukut received their medical treatment in the Yellow Zone, Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital.

“However the car driver, Mahasan Mohd. Fuad, 53, from Taman Suria here did not suffer from injury and the case was investigated under Section 43 (1) Road Transport Act (RTA) 1987. – Malaysia World News
