SUBANG, MAR.24: Two Navy people who were undergoing training at the Leornardo Helicopter at the premises of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Airport, Subang here today became among the earliest responders to the Airbus H125 that was crashed this morning.
The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) in its statement said, the fast action taken by Lt. Nor Hilmi Hashim from RMN and BK TMK Lopez s/o Edwin had saved the lives of five victims in the helicopter.
“Their training and experiences as Air Engineer Officer and Aircraft Technician respectively, at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) had given Lt. Nor Hilmi with the confidence to avoid the fire and saved the lives of the victims that were trapped in the aircraft cabin,” said the statement.
The RMN’s statement was following an incident where a helicopter with five passengers crashed shortly after it took off from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Airport, Subang here this morning.
In the 9.25am incident, two of the five on board the privately chartered Airbus H125 were believed to be injured while three others escaped unhurt.
Meanwhile Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director, Norazam Khamis said a team from Kota Anggerik station arrived at the scene at 9.47am following an emergency call at 9.26a.m.
“The rescue team found that one of the men was injured on the head and had fractured leg and another had leg injuries. The rest of them only sustained slight bruises,” said Norazam.
Norazam added, all of them were reported in stable condition.-Malaysia World News
