KUALA LUMPUR: Two males, Mior Abdul Maheer 32, and Jason Soo Kai Soon, 26, were each fined RM5, 000 by the Sessions Court after they pleaded guilty for provocation, using abusive language and did not cooperate with an Immigration Officer in an Enforcement Operation at Pantai Dalam on 10th Aug. 2022.

Director General of Immigration Malaysia, Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said, if they fail to pay the fines, they will be sentenced to five months jail. The two males were convicted by the Sessions Court Judge, Emelia Keswati Mohamad while the case was prosecuted by Deputy Prosecutor Siti Ruvinna Mohd. Rawi on 30th Aug. 2022.

Khairul Dzaimee said, one of them had spitted on the Immigration Officer and in fact both of them had recorded the provocation made on the Immigration Officers with the intention to humiliate them and the Malaysia Immigration Department (JIM).

“The department would like to stress that stern action will be taken according to the law on anyone who provokes and threatens any Immigration Officer that is on duty.

“There will be no compromise on any individual who tries to obstruct or provoke any Immigration Officer,” Khairul Dzaimee said. – Malaysia World News
