TEXAS, Feb 7: Miss Malaysia Plus World 2020/21 Melissa Mohan Tyndall (pic right) and Mrs Malaysia Plus Intercontinental 2020/21 Zeenat Khan Malik, who have represented Malaysia on the international stage at the Miss Plus World 2021 pageant in Texas, USA on Saturday (Feb 6, 2021), have made history and made Malaysia proud by winning prestigious international titles at the international pageant.

The 30-year-old Melissa from Setiawan, Perak has been crowned Miss Plus World Humanitarian Ambassador 2021/2022 after having impressed the US expert and famous judges with her presentation and involvement in humanitarian services and activities in her town.

“I have been organizing breast cancer awareness campaigns since 2017. It’s crucial to me as I have lost three family members to breast cancer. I was only a young girl when they passed away from breast cancer. I had very little knowledge about breast cancer so I started to read more about it. I realised that although the term breast cancer is not uncommon, there are women who are still afraid to have their regular check-ups as they are under the impression that they will not be affected by it.

“My intention is to create awareness on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Coming from a small town, I conduct my events in my hometown as my intention is to encourage women to go for regular check-ups and to seek for help especially if they find any abnormalities,” she said.

Melissa was also selected as Miss Plus World 2021 4th Runner Up, while Miss Caribbean Coast Randeika Foulkes Cartwright has been crowned as the winner of Miss Plus World 2021.

In the same event that was held in and streamed live from Texas, USA, Mrs Malaysia  Zeenat  Malik has been crowned Ms Plus Intercontinental 2nd  Runner Up. While Ms Plus America Wendy Roach has been crowned the winner of Ms Plus Intercontinental 2021/22.

Talking to the media, Zeenat  said, all the contestants in this international pageant are phenomenal, with great mind and big hearts.

“I am so glad and very proud to represent my beloved country and get to the top 3,” she said.

Asked how she feels being selected 2nd runner up for Ms Plus Intercontinental category, Zeenat said: “Never even in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would get this far when I joined Miss Plus World Malaysia pageant and won as the 1st Runner-Up!

“I am the first-ever in the Intercontinental category to represent Malaysia on an international level in the USA.”
