U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted to cut off financial aid to countries that vote in favor of the United Nations resolution rejecting Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Speaking to reporters at the White House Wednesday, US President Donald Trump says he’ll be watching how countries vote in the UN General Assembly Thursday on a non-binding resolution to annul the United States’ recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

The US president threatened he will cut funding for nations that back the resolution, and he will not care.

“They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us. Well, we’re watching those votes. Let them vote against us. We’ll save a lot. We don’t care,” Trump says.

Trump also expressed support for a letter sent by U.S. envoy to the UN Nikki Haley, in which she warned member states against supporting the resolution.
