Tony Pua to record his statement at Bukit Aman today -IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: The former Damansara Member of Parliament, Tony Pua will be called to assist an investigation at the Criminal Investigation Department Bukit Aman today (Monday) following his statement insulting the royal institution posted in the social media Facebook.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razaruddin Husain said, the statement posted was as follows: “trust me, it’s not a scam “wow, after all these years, NAJIB/UMNO cyber trooper still love me” “I beg your pardon?” can someone sent me to jail and for 1 year and in exchange, pay me RM50 mil?”Preety please?” “King Klep pardoned!!”

Razaruddin said, the nature of the statement is to incite members of the public to hate and insult the royal institution concerning the absolute power of His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong in exercising jurisdiction under Article 42 Federal Constitution.

“The investigation is carried out by the Classified Crime Investigation Unit, Prosecution Division /Law (D5) Criminal Investigation Department,, Bukit Aman under Section 4(1) Sedition Act 1948/Section 233 Communication and Multimedia Act 1998,” he said in a press statement here Sunday.

Meanwhile, Razaruddin advises the people not to speculate or share wrong information to the extent could disturb the investigation process or causing disharmony among the community in Malaysia as the case is still in the investigation stage.

Earlier the IGP said, the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) has received a police report regarding Tony Pua’s statement in the Facebook.

On another development Tony Pua said the IGP himself acted very fast, very efficient, working overtime on a Sunday, paying personal attention to the reports, presumably filed by UMNO boys.

“I’ll be giving my statement to the police at Bukit Aman at 1pm tomorrow (Mon.5 Feb.)
