PUTRAJAYA: A meeting between the new Minister of Digital Communication, Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil and Tiktok platform provider and the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC) was held today to raise the worries and the serious impact on provocative contents relating to the ruler, religion and race (3R).
Ahmad Fahmi said, the meeting was held following the Special Cabinet Meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya, on Monday morning.
The Minister added, the meeting among others had focused on the uploading of contents with provocative element that threatens the harmony and the sensitivities of the royal institution, religion and race.
“The discussion had resulted with Tiktok’s aspiration and commitment to engage in strategic cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Communication via the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC) to immediately contain and eradicate the dissemination of provocative and extremist contents in the social media.
“These contents will disturb the harmony of various levels of the society in our beloved country. Insya Allah I will hold many more meetings with other social media providers to ensure this issue will be addressed immediately and in a holistic way,” Ahmad Fahmi said in a statement. –Malaysia World News
