Netherlands: International investigators have charged three Russians and one Ukrainian with murder in the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over Eastern Ukraine in 2014 in which 298 people were killed.
Three Russian nationals are Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinskiy and Oleg Pulatov), and the Ukrainian man is Leonid Kharchenko, according to media reports.
“They (the suspects) will also be placed on national and international wanted lists,” Wilbert Paulissen, chief constable of the Netherlands National Police, told a press conference yesterday.
Russia denied all involvement in the downing of MH17.
According to CBC News, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website that it regretted the findings released Wednesday.
“Once again, absolutely groundless accusations are being made against the Russian side, aimed at discrediting the Russian Federation in the eyes of the international community,” the statement read.
MH17 was shot down on July 17, 2014 as it was flying from Amsterdam to the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. All 298 people aboard were killed, including one Canadian.
