Three other ministers to discuss SOPs and flexibilities in the endemic phase – Senior Minister Hishammuddin

PUTRAJAYA 6 SEPT.: The  National Security Council (NSC) that is headed by Senior Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein will include three other ministers to discuss in details on the standard operating procedures (SOP) and the flexibilities to be set up for the future endemic phase.

Hishammuddin said, the Pandemic Management Special Committee chaired by the Prime Minister on 2nd September 2021 has agreed that he (Hishammuddin) leads NSC besides the involvement of three ministers including Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Finance, Senator Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul and Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

“Subsequently, I will also instruct NSC to update the SOPs and the flexibilities that have been agreed upon with other ministries that have been involved earlier so that it could be easily understood,” Hishammuddin said in a statement here today.

The Defence Senior Minister added, as a preparation towards the endemic phase, the government is studying the suitable flexibilities to enable the people to return to their daily lives that is freer in the new norms.

“However at the same time, the government is very concerned on protecting the people’s lives and health besides strengthening the economic and well-being of the people,” he added

The flexibilities, Hishammuddin said, include the possibility of allowing the people to travel inter-district/state for several reasons besides opening more sectors. To set the flexibilities, many factors have to be considered because it involves the health of the people and the safety of the nation.

Earlier Hishammuddin agreed and supported Khairy Jamaluddin’s statement on 2nd September 2021 that the shift to endemic phase will start at the end of October. –Malaysia World News
