Ayu, the 11-year-old girl who is married to a 41-year-old man, is currently not schooling and her husband has moved her to a far remote place in Gua Musang jungle so that they can avoid public scrutiny and criticism.
According to New Straits Times (NSTP) her husband wanted to place his wife in a taffiz school but she refused to.
The rubber tapper, who has two other wives and four children, said he will continue to try to persuade her to go to school.
“I will never give up. I will continue to conduct special prayers so that Allah will open her heart one day (and she will) accept my plan to send her to study at a religious school, because she has no interest to go to a normal school,” he said in an interview with NSTP today.
The duo had tied the knot at a mosque in Kampung Padang Nyor in Munduk, Thailand, on June 18. Their controversial marriage drew a lot of criticism on social media.
