KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of Leutenant Colonel Awang Iskandar Ampuan Yaacub, Kedah Malaysian Civil Defence Force Director had arrived at the TU Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu 4.00pm (local time) Wednesday 24th May 2023 for post-mortem process and documentation.
The Foreign Ministry said, charge d’affaires ad interim of the Malaysian Embassy, Mohd. Fadzle Abu Hasan was at the hospital to receive the body and help the management of the remains to run smoothly.
“The post-mortem process will take two days. If the process runs smoothly the remains is expected to reach Malaysia the latest on Saturday 27th May 2023,” said the ministry in a statement here today.
On another development, the Ministry said the process of search and rescue (SAR) on climber Muhammad Hawari Hashim is still ongoing.
“The government has announced the financial aid contribution of RM1.48 million to the Altitude Exploration Club for the search and rescue mission.
“The ministry via the Malaysian embassy will give consular aid to ensure the process of bringing back the remains and search for the climber of the Malaysian Everest Mission 2023 will run smoothly.
“Any latest development will be announced from time to time,” the statement said. –Malaysia World News
