The Malaysian Army stays vigilant and alert at the borders while Malaysians celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Army was urged to be alert consistently and be ready at all times to shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding the security of Malaysia at the borders.

Chief of Army, General Dato’ Seri Panglima Ahmad Hasbullah who was at Banding, Kedah on June 4, said he and senior officers from the Army Headquarters visited the operational areas to see the army’s level of readiness besides celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri with them at the borders.

In the evening, Ahmad and his delegation had breakfast with the soldiers followed with maghrib prayers, isyak and then “takbir raya” at the Tactical Headquarters Sri Banding Camp.

A video conference (VC) was held with all the army commanders who were located at operational areas in Malaysia. The Chief of Army received reports on the readiness of the soldiers from “Panglima Medan Barat, Malaysian Army” and operational locations in Peninsular Malaysia and in Sarawak. After the VC they made preparation to cook food for Aidilfitri.

“The main objective of the visit is to inject high spirit to the Malaysian Army who has been entrusted to carry out their duties (during Hari Raya),” said Ahmad in a statement recently.


 Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration became more joyous where all the soldiers on duty received gifts and the event was followed with the launching of the book “From the Chief of Army Table” Volume Three.

The book was a continuation from Volume One that was launched in conjunction with 100 Days of Government while Volume Two was launched on March 1 to inaugurate Malaysian Army Day

This book is a medium where a father advises his son to join the Malaysian Army professionally and always have faith in carrying out all types of job.

According to Malaysian Army statement, the Chief of Army’s delegation then went on board two helicopters to visit Gubir Camp, Kedah. The operational base is the placement of the 6th Battalion of Royal Ranger Regiment (6 RRD).

Meanwhile, earlier on June 5, Chief of Army had his Fajr prayers after which performed the Aidilfitri prayers with the soldiers on duty. The Aidilfitri was then celebrated with a party that served many kinds of food.

Five media representatives went along with the Chief of Army to visit the operational locations at the borders.

According to them (media) it was a good experience where they could feel how the soldiers sacrifice Aidilfitri celebration with their families’ back home to.defend the country and provide security for the Malaysians at the borders. –Malaysia World News
