
KUALA LUMPUR: Former Federal Territories Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, 68, pleaded not guilty to two counts of corruption under Section 165 of the Penal Code at the Sessions Court here today (Thursday).
He was alleged of receiving RM3million bribe in total over the sale of land belonging to Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).
However the Member of Parliament for Putrajaya, Tengku Adnan claimed trial after the charge was read out before Sessions Court judge Azman Ahmad on Thursday (Nov 15).
The court allowed bail at RM1million in two sureties.
Tengku Adnan is the third former Cabinet minister from the Barisan Nasional’s regime to be charged in court since the former government lost in the 14th General Election on May 9.
Apart from Tengku Adnan, Najib and former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi were also charged in court with various allegations relating to corruption, criminal breach of trust and money laundering.
Tengku Adnan, who was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Wednesday (14 Nov), arrived at the Court at 1.54pm, accompanied by his supporters.-Malaysia World News
