Technology, MySejahtera Apps help Malaysia manage COVID-19 pandemic

PUTRAJAYA APRIL 7: The World Health Day celebration that falls on 7th April since 1948 is aimed at increasing the society’s awareness towards global health issues.

Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said, with this year’s theme “To Build a Fairer and Healthy World” will pave the way for health services to reach and benefit all levels of the society regardless of background, economic status and location.

Saifuddin said, the COVID-19 pandemic has triggered the people to adapt digital methods in the health services and among the effective initiatives is the creation of MySejahtera Apps.

“MySejahtera Apps has helped the government specifically the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) to manage the infection information, monitoring the transmission of the pandemic and the registration of the vaccine inoculation in real time.

“Besides health services, MySejahtera Apps is now being used by 25 million Malaysians and its application is capable to cover other sectors such as e-business, education, delivery service that is functioning as One Stop Centre or Super App that provides several services in one platform for all the people in Malaysia,” said Saifuddin in a statement here today.

He added, the Ministry will continue its efforts to develop not only the telecommunication infrastructure but to double the application of digital technology to realize the MyDIGITAL aspirations to benefit all levels of the society towards the Industry Revolution 4.0 and shared prosperity. –Malaysia World News
