Taman Ikan Jinak cluster formed from a family gathering in Sabah

PUTRAJAYA JAN.17: The Taman Ikan Jinak cluster involving the districts of Tuaran and Kota Belud in Sabah was related to a family day where one of those present was detected with positive COVID-19 following a screen test on 12th Jan.2021.

Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, until 17th Jan.2021, 46 individuals had been screened tested and out of which 21 were detected with COVID-19 after attending the event at Taman Ikan Jinak Melangkap Tiong, Kota Belud.

Dr. Noor Hisham said, out of 10 new clusters, six were formed at work places and this include Jalan Pandan Indah in the district of Hulu Langat , Selangor where 77 were detected with COVID-19.

The Jalan Perak cluster in the district of Johor Bahru, Johor was also affecting a work place where 35 cases were infected with the corona virus after 504 individuals were screened tested at a factory located in Jalan Perak 4, Kawasan Perindustrian Pasir Gudang until 17th Jan. 2021.

Meanwhile, the Jalan Menerung cluster at Lebuh Pantai, Kuala Lumpur had affected the security guards at Apartment One Menerung, Jalan Menerung, Bangsar. From 26 individuals who went for screen test, 23 had been detected with COVID-19.

“The Jalan Yap Construction Site cluster in the district of Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur had affected 21 workers detected with COVID-19 after a targeted screen test was done on 47 individuals until 17th Jan.2021,” said Dr. Noor Hisham in a statement here today.

Another cluster formed at the work place is the Jalan Mawila involving the district of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah that had affected a military staff at Wisma Pelayaran Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia Sepanggar, Jalan Mawila, Kota Kinabalu.

Dr. Noor Hisham said, the case was detected on 13th Jan.2021 following a screen test done before inter-state travel and until 17th Jan.2021, 130 had been screened and out of which 15 cases were detected with positive COVID-19.

The Jalan Mohammed Salleh cluster in Labuan is also involving a work place where an individual had been detected with COVID-19 after he travelled from Sabah. The cluster started at the Institut Latihan Perindustrian Labuan.

Until 17th Jan.2021, 423 individuals had been screened tested and out of which 12 had been detected with positive COVID-19.

Other cluster include DTI Sepang 2 in the district of Sepang, Selangor involving an Immigration Detention Depot in Jalan Pekeliling 4, Sepang where 80 cases were detected with positive COVID-19 from 238 individuals who were screened tested until 17th Jan.2021.

The Rantau Lada cluster in Temerloh and Maran, Pahang involving a family house at Kampung Bukit Lada, Temerloh, Pahang. An individual who had a travel history to Selangor had been detected with positive COVID-19 on 9th Jan.2021. Until 17th Jan.2021, 19 individuals had been detected with the corona virus after 58 had been screened tested.

On the other hand, the Pantai Peringgit cluster in Melaka Tengah and Jasin in Melaka had affected 24 cases with positive COVID-19 after 128 had been screened tested until 17th Jan.

2021. This cluster was formed from a house at Jalan Solok Pantai Peringgit, Peringgit, Melaka.
On another development, 3,339 new COVID-19 cases were recorded today adding to the cumulative total to 158,434 and 37,782 were active cases with 2,576 patients had been discharged adding to the cumulative total to 120,051 (75.8% from the overall cases).

Dr. Noor Hisham added, from 240 cases admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICU), 93 needed respiratory aids while seven were recorded dead bringing the death toll to 601 cases (0.38% from the total number of cases).
The distribution of COVID-19 in the states include Selangor with 1,314 cases, Sabah (393), Kuala Lumpur (334), Johor (362), Negeri Sembilan (236), Pulau Pinang (120), Perak (107), Kedah (96), Pahang (61),Sarawak (62), Kelantan (114), Melaka (60) Labuan (22), Terengganu (22), Putrajaya (23) and Perlis (13). – Malaysia World News
