Taliban bans shaving or trimming beards, hairdressers warned they would be punished if they break the rule

 The Taliban have banned shaving or trimming beards in Afghanistan’s Helmand province.

 They said shaving or trimming beards breaches the interpretation of Islamic law, the BBC reported.

Hairdressers have been also warned that they would be punished if they break the rules.

Anyone violating the rule will be punished, the Taliban’s religious police have said.

Hairdresser and barber shops in the capital Kabul is said to have also received similar orders.

According to BBC, notice posted on salons in Helmand province, Taliban officers warned that hairdressers must follow Sharia law for haircuts and beards.

“No one has a right to complain,” the notice, which was seen by the BBC, read.

“The fighters keep instructing the Afghanistan people to “stop following American styles” and not to shave or trim anyone’s beard.
