KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prasarana Berhad chairman and Pasir Salak MP, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was detained last night by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for alleged abuse of power.

The 73-year-old was allegedly detained at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009 for using his office or position for gratification, according to NST.

However, he was immediately released on oral bail in the same evening.

Source said he was just called to give a statement to MACC and go back, normal procedure.

Source also confirmed Tajuddin did not spend the night in the lock-up as some media alleged last night.

The Pasir Salak MP has been widely criticised recently for his unprofessional and  insensitive manner in answering reporters’ questions on Monday’s LRT crash that left 213 injured near the KLCC station.

Tajuddin is also facing investigations over alleged SOP breach by not wearing a face mask during his visit to the crash site, and later at the Prasarana press conference.

He was also terminated from his post as the Chairman of Prasarana by the Ministry of Finance with immediate effect on Wednesday.-Malaysia World News
