STIE Keluarga Malaysia generates income for local community, students, youths, SMEs and start-ups, says Ismail Sabri

BERA, PAHANG: The Create Space for Science, Technology, Innovation and Economy (STIE) Keluarga Malaysia is expected to invigorate the innovation and creativity culture for more Keluarga Malaysia to be active in STI and support the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (DSTIN).

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the government hopes the efforts could create thinking group that would produce product or services for commercialisation and subsequently helps the country to empower economy based on innovation.

Ismail said, besides forming new wealth, the national STI agenda is also targeted to increase the prosperity of the people, earth sustainability and highlight the country’s competency at the international level.

“The STI National Agenda is driven by the DSTIN 2021-2030 that aspires to make Malaysia as a high technology country before 2030 and be among the world technology creator,” Ismail said in his speech at the Create Space for Science, Technology, Innovation and Economy (STIE) Keluarga Malaysia held in Felda Community Hall, Bukit Puchong Triang here Saturday 15th Oct.2022.

The Prime Minister added, the Social Innovation Concept has increasingly caught drastic attention and interest since recent years. The growth of Malaysian social innovation is very encouraging and there is an increasing number in social industries.

“With the focus on the regional and domestic innovation, social innovation could be instilled by using different approaches via the development of social innovation incubator such as Create Space STIE Keluarga Malaysia.

“This will provide opportunity to solve pressing social issues as it has potentials to create jobs via new market that will be developed from the innovator’s idea from the grass root level.

“The global economic uncertainties have made the social innovation very important in encouraging the social market to be more dynamic, inclusive and sustainable. This is because the recovery in the national growth for 2022 does not only relate to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) but also the inclusive development from all aspects,” Ismail said.

According to Ismail, it is evident that the social innovation could be able to reduce the different gaps in the urban and rural economy besides is able to promote the traditional innovation as a source of economy that is competent.

“The Create Space STIE Keluarga Malaysia, Bera, Pahang developed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) via the Malaysian Innovation Foundation (YIM) will give opportunity to the people to be more literacy in the current technology.

“Besides that the programme could generate income for the local community based on ecosystem 10-10 STIE (Subscription Matching Business and Economic Sharing) that targets on students, youths, small and medium entrepreneurs (SME) and start-ups.

Through the Create Space STIE, Ismail said, the local community could use the design laboratory, computer laboratory, idea corner, technology corner, innovation corner, digital studio, training space to increase knowledge and community capacity building around the area.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the Create Space STIE Keluarga Malaysia that has been developed could be accessed for free by anybody who wishes to benefit from the facilities that have been provided by the government.-Malaysia World News
