Standardised SOP implemented nationwide throughout MCO until June 7

PUTRAJAYA MAY 11: The same and stricter standard operating procedure of the Movement Control Order (MCO) will take effect nationwide on 12th May until 7th June 2021 alongside with the economic activities running as usual.

Senior and Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the Technical National Security Council (NSC) in its meeting today has detailed the   SOP of MCO that will be implemented throughout the country.

“The details of the SOP are accessible through the related Ministries and the NSC website,” Ismail said at the press conference held here today with Director General of Health, Tan Sri. Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Ismail said, the SOPs among others cover the related Ministries; the permitted activities in MCO areas; permission to operate and move for the public services and private sectors; general health protocols; religious activities; activities in the fishery, plantation, agriculture and livestock; sports and recreational activities; creative industry; child care centre; kindergarten, day care centre; rehabilitation centres for the handicapped (OKU) and the list of activities not permitted.

He added, the Ministries will activate the hotline to give further information about the MCO.

Meanwhile, Enhanced MCO (EMCO) has been imposed on three localities involving three villages in Tras sub-district, Raub, Pahang and MRSM Pengkalan Hulu, Perak,Perak effective 13th May until 26th May 2021 while the Low Cost Public’s House (RAKR) Pelagat 3, Pelagat sub-district, Besut, Terengganu on 14th May until 27th May 2021.

“The implementation of the EMCO in these localities will enable the Ministry of Health (MOH) to carry out early contact tracing and the close contacts so that they could be separated the soonest and to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 infection to other risky areas besides these localities.” Ismail added.  

On the other hand, EMCO has been extended on five placements around Sg. Klau, Raub, Pahang effective 13th May until 26th May 2021.

The Senior Minister added, EMCO had been imposed on this locality and scheduled to end on 12th May 2021. However MOH has confirmed that the COVID-19 continues to be transmitted in the locality. 

Ismail said, earlier 331 screening tests had been carried out and out of which 11 positive COVID-19 cases had been detected.

 EMCO will end as scheduled in two placements around Sungai Chalit, Raub, Pahang on 12th May 2021. However the Science Tahfiz College, Nurul Aman, Kok Lanas, Kota Bharu, Kelantan had ended its EMCO  on 11th May 2021.

Regarding the Task Force Compliance Operation, Ismail said, 475 individuals had been detained for not complying to the SOPs and out of which 454 had been issued with compounds while 21 were remanded.

Among the offences committed include failing to record personal details /registration when entering premises (223), not wearing mask (115), no physical distancing (63) and others (74).-Malaysia World News
