Sri Maha Mariamman temple: Mohamad Sabu urges parties to solve the issue amicably

KUALA LUMUR: Minister of Defence, Mohamad Sabu who is also the Member of Parliament for Kota Raja urges the parties involved in the Sri Maha Mariamman temple dispute to go back to the negotiation table.

Mohamad said, the dispute should be solved in the best interests of all parties according to the legal processes.

“Through the wisdom of the parties involved, I am confident that the dispute could be tackled and solved amicably,” he said in a media statement today.

The 140 years old Sri Maha Mariamman temple at USJ 25, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya is situated within the Kota Raja Parliamentary area.

Mohamad who is the Parti Amanah Negara President also urged all the parties involved to stay calm and stop from spreading inaccurate information about the incident as it could create restlessness amongst the people.

“According to information I received, the incident was not related to racial and religious issue.

“I am confident the Police (security authorities) will take the necessary actions to ensure the safety and the peacefulness of the people is secured all the time,” he added.

Mohamad Sabu was responding on the incident that happened at 2.45am between a group of 50 males outside the temple and another group inside the temple on Monday Nov.26.

 In the fighting incident about 18 vehicles including two motorcycles were burnt while a police patrol car was hurled with stones by the rioters. –Malaysia World News
