KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition members of Parliament were stunned when Dewan Rakyat Speaker, Tan Sri Johari Abdul did not keep his word to allow them to speak regarding their emergency motion.

The emergency motion was to discuss the Attorney-General’s (AG) explanation on the discharge of Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s corruption cases filed by Machang Member of Parliament, Wan Fayhsal Wan Ahmad.

Wan Ahmad Fayhsal was on standby ready to begin his speech when the speaker suddenly announced the adjournment of today’s session.

Earlier the speaker said, he will allow the opposition to speak after Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim concluded his presentation of the mid-term review of the 12th Malaysian Plan.

Before Anwar presented his review report, the speaker told the Opposition that the motion has already been rejected when asked whether they can debate on it.

The MP was not amused by the sudden move made by the speaker although it was mentioned that the motion had been rejected.

“How about the promise you made earlier Tan Sri?

“The Madani government can break its promises?” asked Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (Arau-PN).

Meanwhile, voices saying “lies” was also heard when the speaker did not entertain their request. –Malaysia World News
