PUTRAJAYA JUNE 26: Starting from July 1, the tourism sub-sectors including meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE), travel and trade fair, spa, wellness, and leg massage centres are allowed to resume operation to boost domestic tourism.
Security and Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, only 250 people are allowed to be present at any one time at events like meetings, incentives, MICE, travel and trade fair.
Ismail said, those attending the event will have to download MySejahtera apps and the organizer will have to ensure that the standard operating procedure (SOP) like registration of visitors, taking body temperature, monitoring the entry and exit of visitors and social distancing will have to be adhered to.
Meanwhile, for the spa, wellness and leg massage centres, the operators will have to comply with the SOPs set by the National Security Council (NSC) and Ministry of Health (MOH) like registration and checking body temperature, wearing a face mask and using hand sanitizer.
“Only Malaysians are allowed to work and they will have to undergo COVID-19 swab tests before they are allowed to resume operation,” he said in a press conference held here today.
However, Ismail said, visitors, will have to download MySejahtera apps for monitoring purposes.
On the question of whether the “homestay concept” has a limited number of people staying at any one time, Ismail said, there is no limit to the number of occupants staying at the “homestay” but they have to adhere to social distancing whenever they are. –Malaysia World News
