“Six-year suspension from UMNO is not the end of me”- Hishammuddin

HISHAMMUDDIN

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said his fighting spirit to work hard for the race, religion, and nation will not be hampered following his suspension from UMNO for six years with effect on Friday.

The Sembrong Member of Parliament (MP) stressed that the UMNO’s decision to suspend him for six years is not the end but regards it as a new beginning for him.

“I will discuss with the Sembrong UMNO leadership the next course of action for the decision made by the UMNO Supreme Council (MKT) on me,” Hishammuddin said in a short video posted on his Instagram.

On Friday, UMNO MKT made a decision to sack former Minister of Health and also former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin, and former Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative Tan Sri Noh Omar who was also the former Selangor UMNO Chief.

Besides Hishammuddin, former information chief Shahril Haamdan, ex-Jempol MP Salim Sharif, and Tebrau UMNO leader Maulizan Bujang were also suspended for six years.

Meanwhile, in seeking justification for Hishammuddin’s six-year suspension from the party, UMNO Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi claimed that Sembrong MP had frequently gone behind the party’s back in making overtures to Perikatan Nasional (PN) as quoted by FMT.

Puad claimed that Hishammuddin had asked UMNO MPs to Azmin Ali’s house and had asked the Sabah UMNO division leaders to join Bersatu.

“Hishammuddin is the main mover in BN MPs signing statutory declarations (following GE15) backing Muhyiddin,” Puad claimed.

However, on Khairy’s case, Puad claimed that Khairy had blatantly hit out UMNO and president Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during the GE15 campaign and said that it was “extraordinary.”- Malaysia World News
