Singapore Foreign Minister’s visit to Malaysia to strengthen longstanding relations, multifaceted cooperation

PUTRAJAYA: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan working visit to Malaysia from 17th to 19th May 2022 will be scheduled to meet and exchange views with Malaysian leaders on broad ranging bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah will host his counterpart Dr Vivian Balakrishnan who is also scheduled to have an audience with the Sultan of Perak, HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah; and meet with Senior Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein; Chairman of National Recovery Council, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin; as well as Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

“The visit of Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will provide an excellent opportunity for Malaysia and Singapore to further strengthen the longstanding relations and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

“In 2021, Singapore was Malaysia’s second largest trading partner and the largest within ASEAN with total trade amounting to RM267.11 billion (USD64.43 billion), an increase of 25.2 percent, compared to the recorded value in 2020,” Saifuddin said in a statement on Monday. –Malaysia World News
