Singapore has executed Nagaenthran Dharmalingam this morning despite appeal from Malaysians.
His family said the execution had been carried out this morning and the funeral would be held in Ipoh, Reuters reported.
Nagaenthran, 34 was sentenced to death in 2010 for trafficking 42.72g of heroin into Singapore..
This case had drawn international attention and sparked anger in Malaysia. Even the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had asked his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong to lessen the punishment, but in vain.
Nagaenthran’s lawyers claim that Nagaenthran was intellectually disabled.
