KUALA LUMPUR:- Fifteen participants from the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and the National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM) have completed their six weeks basic Arabic course sponsored by the government of Saudi Arabia through its embassy here
Jointly organized by MAF, Defence Attaché, Saudi Arabia Embassy and NDUM, the course was aimed at creating harmony and providing bigger opportunities for diplomatic interactions between the two parties.
“The main objective of the course is to expose participants to the correct usage of Arabic besides practicing intensive communication methods via groups to maximise the effectiveness of the course,” said a statement from the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) here today (Nov.11).
Mindef statement also said that the course is also a dynamic process in helping military officers and the staffs in making preparation before participating in any mission under the United Nations’ flag.
The course that started on September 30 until November 8, 2019 was fully sponsored by Saudi Arabia government while The Saudi School had provided with the teaching aid.
The Arabic course was conducted at the NDUM Language Centre while the presentation of certificates was held at the Saudi School, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Malaysia, Mahmoud HS Qattan has presented certificates to the participants with the presence of Director General of Religious Division, MAF (KAGAT), Major General Datuk Kamaruddin Mamat and other senior MAF officials.-Malaysia World News (MWN).
