KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) is building five blocks of houses consisting of 3,500 units of different categories and sizes in Sungai Besi in line with its “One military personnel, one house” or SASaR programme.
The Ministry of Defence said, the SASaR Sungai Besi or “Residensi Sateria” which is scheduled to be completed by 2025 had started building the houses in 2022.
“Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Utama Mohamad Hasan had visited the construction site to see the current status of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) SASaR Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur project.
“The MAF SASaR is one of the core agendas of MINDEF in its care for the welfare of the military personnel and the living quality of the Defence Work Forces that includes the army personnel, civil staff of the ministry and the MAF veterans,” the Ministry said in a statement.
The statement added, the agenda has been activated via the Housing Blueprint 3.0 that is directly supporting the MINDEF2021-2025 Strategic Plan under the Core 3 that is the Family Prosperity Preservation and the MAF Veterans.
The proposal in implementing the building of houses for MAF SASaR, said the statement has opened the opportunity for the families of the Defence Work Forces (MAF personnel, MAF veterans and civil staff of MINDEF) to own comfortable houses with affordable prices in the city of Kuala Lumpur.
“The MAF SASaR initiative is part of the priorities set by MINDEF in taking care of the welfare of its family in line with the Minister of Defence’s Mandate for the year 2023.
“The progress of the project has reached 21.69 per cent and MINDEF is confident that the project could be implemented within the time frame to ensure the welfare of all the Defence Work Forces and MAF Veterans are protected and enjoy the facility provided,” the statement said. –Malaysia World News
