Sarawak enters Phase Two NRP effective 14th July 2021, telecommunication customer service centres allowed to operate – DPM Ismail

PUTRAJAYA JULY 12: The state of Sarawak will be the eight to enter the Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) effective 14th July 2021 after ithas successfully fulfil the threshold indicators.

Deputy Prime Minister / Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the seven states that had entered Phase Two NRP include Terengganu, Kelantan, Pahang, Perlis, Perak, Pulau Pinang and Sabah.

Ismail said, the National Security Council (MKN) meeting chaired by the PrimeMinister today had viewed the presentation of the phase shifts of states under the NRP by the Ministry of Finance.

“After all the agencies involved including the Ministry of Health (MOH) had viewed the threshold indicators, the meeting agreed that Sarawak will be shifting to Phase Two based on their achievements to fulfil the three threshold indicators,” Ismail said in a statement here today.

Meanwhile, further details on the permission set in Phase Two could be referred to the MKN website www.mkn.gov.my.

On another development, Ismail said, MKN also agreed to give permission to all telecommunication company customer service centres that are located in the shopping malls and hyper markets to operate throughout the NRP effective 13th July 2021.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted that yesterday the Task Force Compliance Operation Team had carried out 78,975 checking and snap check COVID-19 nationwide involving 19,477 personnel.

“The Operation includes checking 2,087 factories, 16,086 business premises, 625 construction sites and 449 workers’ hostels.

From the checking, 17 premises including factories, business premises and construction sites were directed to close down for not adhering to the standard operating procedure (SOP),” Ismail added.

Regarding the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) Ismail said, 10 localities in Sabah, one in Pahang, two in Sarawak and one in Johor have been placed under EMCO effective 14th July until 27th July 2021.

Ismail said the 10 localities in Sabah placed under EMCO include Taman Muhibbah Phase 1, 2 and 3, Beaufort, six areas around Kampung Patikang Ulu, Keningau involving Kampung Patikang Ulu, Factory and Focus Lumber Quarters, Factory and Veracity Quarters, Factory and Hasil Jadi Quarters, Driving Centre IDA, Indonesia citizens placement, two localities in Penampang including Kampung Madsiang, Beverley Hills Phase Two Apartment and Kampung Kobusak, Penampang, Felda Lembah Klau, Mukin Gali, Raub Pahang,Kampung Kendaie & Kampung Bukit Batu, Lundu, Kuching, Sarawak ,Felda Maokil, Muar, Johor.

Ismail said, in the Task Force Compliance Operation yesterday 514 individuals had been detained for not complying with the SOP and out of which 503 were issued with compounds while 11 were remanded.

Among the offences committed include inter-state/district travel without permission/eating/drinking in the premises (126), no physical distancing (104), failing to register when entering premises (69), not adhering to the movement control order (58) not wearing mask (55), premises not adhering to instructions and others (3). –Malaysia World News
