“I am a victim of all this. They’ve done this to my husband,” Rosmah told the court.

KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the wife of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, has been convicted by Kuala Lumpur High Court this afternoon and sentenced to 10 years in jail and a RM970 million after she has been found guilty over three graft charges linked to the RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak.

However, the sentence can stay pending an appeal to the Court of Appeal.

Rosmah, 70, broke down in court after hearing the conviction and asked the court to show some humanity.

“If it happens to me now, it can happen to you.

“I am a victim of all this. They’ve done this to my husband.

“I am very sad with what has happened today.

“I was once the first lady, and I started Permata.

“Nobody saw me taking the money, nobody saw me counting the money.

“But if that is the conclusion, takpe lah,” Rosmah told the judges from the dock while wiping away her tears.

Judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan had earlier delivered the guilty verdict shortly after dismissing Rosmah’s application to recuse him from hearing or making a decision on the case, according to reports.
