PUTRAJAYA SEPT.24: The government has announced 2,000 units of houses that will benefit 10,000 households under the Residential House of Malaysian Family Initiative or Rumah Ikram Keluarga Malaysia.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, to lessen the burden of the recipients of the initiative, they will be exempted from payment until six months effective from the date they receive the house keys.
“The rental payment exemption will be borne by the government involving around RM3 million. This is to enable the recipients of the benefits specifically the Heads of Households to focus on the effort in mobilising the family’s economy,” Ismail said when launching the Residential House of Malaysian Family at the Crystal Hall, Ministry of Housing and Local Government here today.
Ismail also announced the Rental Payment Moratorium Programme of the existing occupants of the People’s Housing Project (PPR) under the supervision and management of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) will continue until the end of 2022.
“This will benefit around 10,000 Heads of Households or 50,000 PPR occupants with the involvement of RM18.84 million. This is part of our efforts, our initiatives and hard work for the Malaysian Family that are in need,” Ismail added.
Earlier Ismail said, many people out there have been badly affected by the current economic situation and the housing problem for example has become the prime issue to the Malaysian Family.
“Subsequently, the Housing Agenda will continue to be the main focus of the government especially in providing affordable houses to the Malaysian Family.
“The affordable houses programmes such as People’s Housing Project (PPR) PR1MA Housing and Malaysia Civil Servants (PPAM) will continue to be improvised to enable every Malaysian Family has a house to live in.
“In line with the Malaysian Family’s spirit the government will help the susceptible group, the youth group and the youngster to own a comfortable and quality house in line with Liveable Malaysia.
“The details will be announced in the tabling of the 12th Malaysia Plan and 2022 Budget in the near future,” Ismail reiterated.-MalaysiaWorld News
