KUALA LUMPUR: Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah calls all fellow colleagues, doctors and healthcare workers to remember the oath they all made when they began their profession –  swear “do no harm or injustice to our patients.”

He also urges  junior contract medical workers t not to join the demonstration (on Monday 26th July) and abandon your duty to your patients.

“Remember many lives are on the line and the demonstration could affect their lives and even your career.

“Our patients and every life matters,” he warns them in a facebook post today.

He also asks the contract medical workers who are planning to go on strike tonorrow to give the government time for the amendment to be made to the pension Act so that permanent positions can be allowed to be employed with EPF i.e. without pension option.

“Meanwhile the Government will allow those in contract position to continue their masters even in contract position and will offer the permanent EPF position once made available,” Noor Hisham said.
