Kuala Lumpur 20 April – Starting from February 2016, students from the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) community will no longer travel on three tonne trucks but in comfortable and conducive buses.
Member of Parliament, Setiawangsa, Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Zahari said, the “school bus programme” is among the facilities provided by ATM for its community.
“Even in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Desa Tun Hussein Onn, 600 students used the buses every day,” he said.
Ahmad Fauzi said that after officiating the ‘Excellent Award, SMK Desa Tun Hussein Onn (DTHO) and Malaysian Armed Forces School Bus Optimization 2016’ event, here today.
The bus facility has benefitted more than 15,000 students and 6,000 parents from the ATM community all over the country.
Ahmad Fauzi added, the reading kits provided on the buses is a good initiative for the students.
“I feel that the SMK Desa Tun Hussein Onn’s idea to provide reading kits for students is good as they can take this opportunity to fill their time.
“This initiative is one of the efforts to be added in the welfare aspects. I am sure more initiatives will be carried out from time to time,” he said.
He added, books, magazines, newspapers and many other reading materials are found in the reading kits and that will be changed from time to time. – Malaysia World News
