KUALA LUMPUR – July 27, 2023  Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH), a leading healthcare provider has partnered with Annalise.ai, one of the largest radiology AI solution providers, to deploy AI-powered clinician-assisting tools designed to help patients get the right care at the right time, with support from the world’s most comprehensive and widely adopted cloud provider, AWS.

Annalise Enterprise chest X-ray (CXR), an AI-powered assistive clinical tool that helps clinicians detect and interpret chest X-ray findings with speed, accuracy, and peace of mind, is planned to be deployed in radiology departments at RSDH’s flagship award-winning hospitals, Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) and Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre (BTMC) in Malaysia, bringing AI-powered care to patients.

Annalise Enterprise CXR uses proprietary deep learning algorithms to identify the suspected presence of up to 124 findings in chest X-rays in less than 20 seconds. These findings are relevant to a variety of care settings including emergency, inpatient and outpatient, as well as a wide range of conditions that require urgent interventions. The AI solution can act as a precision tool for the medical team at RSDH’s hospitals, augmenting the clinician’s capacity to identify subtle details in medical images.

In a proof-of-concept study spanning four weeks, RSDH discovered that the use of Annalise Enterprise CXR as an assistive tool amplified the clinical team’s ability to detect critical findings. Built on AWS’s scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure, the deployment of Annalise.ai’s solutions in RSDH hospitals can help to deliver findings faster to RSDH’s radiologists and represents a significant step forward in the adoption of cloud and AI-powered medtech in the region.

“We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Annalise.ai and AWS, which reflects our progressive outlook towards technology and places our hospitals at the forefront of digital transformation in the healthcare industry,” said Peter Hong, Group Chief Executive Officer of RSDH.

“We are excited to implement the Annalise Enterprise CXR tool at SJMC and BTMC. This is a significant milestone for us as we strive to improve healthcare services in the country and establish ourselves as a leading healthcare provider committed to embracing the latest technology, as we continue to provide the best care to our patients,” he added.

Lakshmi Gudapakkam, CEO of Annalise.ai said: “I am delighted that radiologists across Malaysia may soon have access to our AI-powered tools. Supporting clinicians and hospitals in their diagnostic processes and working with leading healthcare providers such as RSDH is what we’re all about. Together with AWS, we’re driving innovation through cloud adoption of AI tools, benefiting patients at RSDH and ultimately changing the face of medical imaging.”

The deployment of AI-powered tools in two of RSDH’s leading hospitals in Malaysia is just the beginning, with plans to expand to other hospitals in the country as well as in Indonesia. RSDH’s tagline “People caring for people” is a testament to their unwavering dedication to patient care. With state-of-the-art facilities and experienced consultants across a wide array of specialities, RSDH’s team is well-equipped to provide the best possible care to their patients.

The HealthTech industry in Malaysia and ASEAN is increasingly using cloud and advanced technologies like AI and Machine Learning to innovate and improve patient care.

Pete Murray, Country Manager, Malaysia, AWS says, “AWS is proud to work with Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care in collaboration with AWS Partner Annalise.ai to innovate at pace, achieve improved efficiencies, and to better serve the citizens of Malaysia and ASEAN. We look forward to advancing Malaysia’s healthcare system and continue supporting RSDH and Annalise.ai on our shared goals of bringing quality healthcare to everyone with the power of cloud technology. This is in line with AWS’s deep commitment to help accelerate Malaysia’s digital transformation. Our upcoming AWS infrastructure Region in Malaysia can help customers across all industries, including healthcare intuitions, to run workloads and securely store data locally while enjoying even lower latency.”

The collaboration between Annalise.ai and RSDH can pave the way for more cloud deployments in the region, as well as promote the use of a technology that can have a positive impact on millions of patients.
