IPOH: The infamous self-proclaimed Raja Bomoh, Ibrahim Mat Zain has performed a virtual to prevent floods in Malaysia, using materials such as rice, turmeric, flowers and leaves and Quran.

A 25-minute and nine second video of him and a woman known as ‘Puteri Zaleha’ performing the ritual to prevent floods in Teluk Intan has gone viral on social media.

According to NST, Perak Islamic Religion Department (JAIPk) director Datuk Mohd Yusop Husin said that the department would open an investigation paper on the matter.

He added that the investigation paper would be opened according to Section 14 of the Perak Syariah Criminal Enactment 1992 for denigrating and insulting the religion of Islam.

“We will open an investigation paper on this case. People are advised not to be influenced by such acts and to stay away from any practices that lead to superstition,” he said when contacted.
