Priority will be given to international relations and focus on certain countries – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zambri

PUTRAJAYA DEC.5:  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Unity Government will focus and gives priority to what have been the international relation policies and relations with certain countries.

The new Foreign Affairs Minister, Datuk Seri Zambri Abdul Kadir said, being neutral and workings together with other countries have been the country’s policy.

“I am yet to receive the terms of preference from the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar as today is only my introductory session as the Minister of Foreign Affairs,” Zambri said in his first press conference after being appointed as a Cabinet Minister, Friday.

Zambri added the Prime Minister has to give direction on certain issues, especially regarding the ASEAN, superpowers, Middle East issues, and others.

“The Prime Minister will chair the first Cabinet Meeting next Wednesday and today is only an introductory session and I cannot address much on international issues,” he said to the foreign media who had posed several questions pertaining to international issues.

On another development, Zambri as the Secretary General of Barisan Nasional (BN) said, the agreement draft of the parties involved in the coalition that had formed the Unity Government is almost finalized.

“There will be more than two parties involved in the coalition. When all the parties involved have come together and agreed then an agreement will be signed. The coalition will take care of all the parties involved,” Zambri said.-Malaysia World News
