Pre-school reopens on 1st March, secondary school starts 4th April 2021 – Minister

PUTRAJAYA FEB.19: The pre-school Year One and Two will start its session on 1st March while Year Three until Six will reopen on 8th March 2021.

Senior Minister of Education, Datuk Dr. Radzi Jidin said, the two groups of school children will have to start the face to face session earlier to give allowance for the teachers to assimilate the pupils with the standard operating procedure (SOP) in the schools.

Radzi said, the assimilation is also for the teachers and parents to evaluate together the SOPs and the education achievement at the end of the year.

He said, the secondary school students will start their sessions on 4th April for group A involving the states of Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu while on 5th April 2021 will be affecting students from group B in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Pulau Pinang , Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur , Labuan and Putrajaya.

“The mid-term school holidays will be on 26/27 March until 3/4 April 2021,” said Radzi in a press conference held here today.

Radzi added, the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination will start on Monday 22nd Feb.2021 with students adhering to strict SOP.

Radzi said, the examination situation is different from usual as all the schools will provide an alternative room in case any SPM candidate has COVID-19 symptoms and transit room for students who have to sit for examination papers in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Vocational Certificate year one (semester 2) and the Malaysian Vocational Diploma year one (semester 2) students will start their academic session on 1st March 2021.

The Senior Education Minister said, private schools will also start their sessions following schedules of the schools under the Ministry of Education (MOE) while international schools/IPS category centre will start on 8th March 2021.-Malaysia World News
