KUALA LUMPUR: Police have explained that they confiscated PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli’s phone following the investigation process.
This came after PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim accused the police of intimidating and hassassing his Deputy.
Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the seizure of the phone was to enable forensic analysis, and it is part of the investigation process for offences under the Penal Code (Act 574) and the Communications and Multimedia Act (Act 588) to enable forensic analysis.
“The device will be returned after the analysis and investigation are completed,” he said in a statement last night.
Rafizi is under investigation after a police report was lodged against him following his allegations against Special Functions Minister Abd Latiff Ahmad over the littoral combat ships (LCS) issue.
Acryl Sani said police had also taken a statement from Latiff after a report was lodged against him.
