Police rescued a foreign woman kidnapped in Selangor

Kuala Lumpur:  The police rescued a foreign woman who was kidnapped by a group of individuals after they were believed to be unhappy about a project that failed to be completed.

According to Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, the victim was kidnapped  in Selangor and taken to Penang before being rescued by the police.

He said she was rescued by a team of officers and members of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) in collaboration with teams from the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) and Penang IPK, throughout this week. 

“The police received a report regarding the kidnapping of a family member of a foreign businessman.

“The investigation found that the foreign national was involved in a transaction, but she  missing which caused her family members to think she was kidnapped,” Mohd Shuhail was quoted by Brita Harian as saying.

Mohd Shuhaily said that more information regarding the incident will be detailed by the Penang Police Chief, CP Dato’ Khaw Kok Chin, at a press conference today.
